Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of Rice specifically in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Posted on Social Media
The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles

He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
