Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
