FC Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
